So as my last post on the subject stated. Trans blew at Exit 21 on Interstate 68 in Maryland last Tuesday. 200 miles from my destination in WV and 360 miles from my home in NJ. Fun, well the next day. After a night in Grantsville MD (look it up. ass end of nowhere) We proceeded to get a ride to the local Ford dealer, who was very helpful in all this. They found my trans fluid was under 1/4 full, leading to the failure. Now, i had just 2k earlier had my trans replaced due to a 2-3 issue. Ok that makes me angry. Well my dealer wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole apparently when the local place (deihls) called them (route 23). So i’m faced with a very unpleasant situation. Get a rental from Enterprise, drive home, then drive back with it when the work is done. Now that’s a 5.5 hour trip. Fuck that. I get on the phone with Route 23 while Deihls calls there rep. One angry call later Rt 23 calls Deihls and agrees to transport my car when it’s fixed, and the Ford rep for that area covered a one way rental for me. So...it all works out, until i get the car back and go barking at the dealer about what they are going to do for me about it. Only shitty part now is it would take 3-4 weeks normally for the transmission, BUT the dealer is taking this week off. For a cruise. Wut.
Rental is a 2016 Hyundai Accent 5 door. It’s got the tiniest friggin wheels. 175/70/14, wtf lol

This is the problem with Ford - their dealer network is not consistent. I’m glad the guys in WV took care of you, but the right answer by Ford in NJ should’ve been “sorry Mr. Higu, first, allow me to get you home, next I’ll give you a Ford, and we’ll get your car shipped back ASAP.”
BMW dealers give me, for free, a BMW loaner. Even for my old 2004 X5. It’s how they do business.
What’s the lesson here: Get a BMW Tony!

There’s just a slight bit of difference in repair margins between a BMW and Ford shop.

So basically, Route 23 replaced your transmission, didn’t fill the new one enough, and now the new one blew up? What kind of assfuckery is that?

I don’t know about that. My former Focus ST (2006) tallied up a $700 bill for an alternator. I’m not saying BMWs are cheap, they’re not, but Ford isn’t either.

Forget part prices, look at the difference in door rates. BMW is much higher. Also, Ford shops do a metric buttload of fleet work, the rates for which are typically negotiated before the account is won. I’m pretty sure there’s not a BMW dealer in the country that does fleet work.

So, not to be weird....do you live in Charleston? I live there and there aren’t too many opponauts from around here. I really can’t call myself one anymore as I don’t have much time to be on here.

If there is one sure way to experience dealer repairs it’s recommending a BMW.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

I know there are customer reps that wander the forums for these cars. Deysha was one on mustangforums.com. You may check if there is a good FiST/FoST forum and if they have a Ford rep. Usually when the guys had issues with their dealers Deysha would further the request up the corporate chain and see about getting things done.
Gotta be shameless man. And vocal on the internet. People read this stuff and Ford knows it. If the dealer is screwing you around, move up the chain to corporate.

My experience has been pretty good. I am having an issue with my X5, but the dealer wants to hold off and make sure we’re not just doing an “R&R” and potentially wasting money. They aren’t going for the money grab. The reason? They know if they treat me well, I will likely continue to buy cars from them and bring them there for service. Ford screwed the pooch on this for me. I was so sad. I loved my Ford cars, but I kept getting robbed blind in the service department and my complaints fell on deaf ears. In one case, they bold-faced lied about a “required” service, when in the car’s manual it said not to do this type of service to the car.
